65th ILTTA Tournament
BOQUERÓN, PUERTO RICO
OCTOBER 7 – 11, 2005

The Club Nautico de Boquerón was the scene of the 65th International Light Tackle Tournament which was hosted by the Puerto Rico Light Tackle Anglers Club. Twenty-three teams representing Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Netherlands Antilles, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Venezuela and the USA descended upon the quaint fishing village of Boquerón, Puerto Rico for three days of fishing. Unfortunately good old Mother Nature did not cooperate causing the cancellation of the last day of fishing. There were a total of twenty-six billfish released in the two days fished – twenty-three Blue Marlin; one White Marlin and two Sailfish.

The South Africa Deep Sea Angling Association (S.A.D.S.A.A.) has been an ILTTA member since 1991 and in that span of time they have missed only one ILTTA tournament. This year proved to be their year as they were the grand winners of the “BIG BELT”. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!
